In Moscow, in Milano Hotel, the drawing procedure was held for the European Table Tennis Supercup group round, starting today in the town of Vidnoye, the Moscow region.
According to regulations, at the first stage 8 table-tennis players will play matches in two groups in circle-wise order (4 athletes in each group). According to world rating the first four players are considered sowed. In group A these are Timo BALL, Germany and Werner SCHLAGER, Austria. In group B these are Vladimir SAMSONOV, Belarus and Dimitry OVCHAROV, Germany. The drawing procedure has indicated that the Danish Michael MAZE and Zoran PRIMORATS from Croatia will play in the same group as BALL.s. Jorgen PERSSON, Sweden and Igor RUBTSOV, Russia found themselves in the same group as that of SAMSONOV.
- Last year in Kazan I played with Ball in the similar group A, Igor Rubtsov said in the interview for our website. Currently, I.d like to be in Samsonov.s group, which I consider to be a slightly easier one. As you see, I was very lucky. Hope luck will keep on my side.
The first games will start at 4.00 p.m. at two tables simultaneously, with part of rivals from group A.
